The amazing Amalfi Coast

Magically suspended between the blue sky and the iridescent colored sea, the Amalfi coast seems to be born from the palette of a painter who wanted to use the warmer color gradients for creating a landscape that enchants the visitor at the first shot, giving thrilling experience and such evocative view to doubt, for a moment, it is real. It is the land where the sweet scent of lemon blossoms harmonizes itself with the most aromatic one of the Mediterranean vegetation and the acrid aroma of saltiness; where the brilliant colors of the majolica domes, bougainvillea and carnations pergolas give an evident colored touch to the typical whitewashed houses, clinging to the last offshoots of the Lattari Mounts that plunge dramatically into the sea. A vertical landscape, in short, characterized by a picturesque labyrinth of stairways and narrow alleys, connecting the two main elements of this landscape: the mountains and the sea. A continuous succession of headlands and inlets, bays and fjords, interspersed with pebbled beaches and rocks on which you can still see the ancient viceregal towers, the first bulwark of the local population against the Saracen attacks. The botanical garden of Naples

The Botanical Garden of Naples was founded at the beginning of the 19th century at a time when this city was dominated by the French. They carried out a plan which had been originally conceived by Ferdinand IV of Borbone and was prevented from being accomplished by a revolution in 1799.
The research done by the Botanical Garden is principally the study of the macro and micromorphological characteristics of some groups of plants for example : cycadales  and  orchidaceae,  ethnobotanical researches in rural areas of central and southern Italy and the analysing  of vegetable fossils from geographical sites in the Campania region.
Furthermore it is clear that the collections of the Botanical Garden represent a reservoir of vegetal  substances used for studies purposes by researchers in the Plant Biology Section of the Department of Biological Science..

Sorrento, septembrie, 2015

Sorrento peninsula has a landscape unique in the world, where low and high hills, deep valleys and majestic mountains alternate, where the man’s work - who levelled even the most impervious areas, transforming them in the famous terraces degrading towards the sea, on which he cultivated orange and lemon trees, olive groves and vineyards - has been grandiose. These are the delightful gardens that in spring time exhale a stirring scent of orange - blossom. The mild and dry climate for most part of the year makes Sorrento peninsula the ideal destination in every season.

As raspunde sincer...nu.

Posillipo - Palazzo Donn'Anna

Alta mare, alt parfum, alta viata....

Oplontis, Villa di Poppea

Oplontis was a town near Pompeii, in the Roman Empire. On August 24, AD 79, the eruption of Mount Vesuvius buried it under a deep layer of ash. It is today the location of the Villa Poppaea, the villa possibly associated with the second wife of Emperor Nero,[1] was excavated in the mid-20th century, wrapping up in 1984,[2] and is currently open to the public.
A second villa, the Villa of L. Crassius Tertius, was discovered in 1974, 300 metres east of the Villa of Poppaea,[3] during the construction of a school. It was named following the finding of a bronze seal bearing Crassius' name.
The name "Oplontis" most likely refers to the baths in the area of Oncino, but today the name commonly covers the group of villas in the middle of the modern town of Torre Annunziata, also known as Torre Nunziata in the local Neapolitan dialect.
A large number of artifacts from Oplontis are preserved in the Naples National Archaeological Museum.
